So it's about that time, the upgrade itch has started and I'm currently mulling over the possibilities, the main decision is i5 vs i7, as I mostly game going the i5 route would save me some cash which would allow me to buy other extras I'd normally hold off on (SSD).

One thing I'm not too up on is monitors, I'm looking for a 24" true HD monitor, around £150 - £200 absolute max, I've been looking at the Iiyama ProLite B2409HDS and it's had some good reviews and the specs speak for themselves, the only thing worrying me is the brand as I've never heard of them. Anyone had any experience with this monitor or other 24"'s in my price range?

Thanks for any input.

if you are purely gaming then go i5 all the way and get some little extras with the money you save.
as for the monitor side, not had any dealings with that make, but we sell AOC which is another cheapish brand and they seem to be pretty good for the price range, so dont be put off by the brand.

No one has an opinion?

maybe post it monitors section but there are some out there in ur price range ACER do one and also do a very good 22inch full 1080p screen which i have myself has dvi, vga, hdmi it's within ur budget and is a very good quality screen also has 2ms response time which decreases ghosting quite a lot (not sure if ghosting is the technical name for it)

same as what i have but 24 inch version http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-052-AC&groupid=17&catid=510&subcat=

If you want an absolutley superb monitor and can stretch another £50ish and dont mind losing a couple of inches get the...

"Dell UltraSharp 2209WA 22" Widescreen LCD Monitor"

Honestly I spent an age reading reviews, watching video's to compare many different monitors and this is by far the best monitor I have ever used!

This post isn't purely about monitors though, it's also about i5 vs i7 so I posted in the correct section.

Thanks for the suggestion though.

I have a NEC 20WGX2 which is a really nice monitor already, I mainly want a bigger monitor so I can move up to 1920x1080.

Iiyama are a well known brand, they were big back in CRT days :)

I've got that exact monitor and for gaming I couldn't be happier :)

That's good to know, I've never heard of them before. Also, what cables do you get with the Iiyama?
