Going to...

haven't got any real advice but.. have something to hide behind ready! :p
Some bits scared the hell outta me!

Maybe I should play through this too.....

I know its gonna be severly lacking after just completing FEAR Extraction Pack though :o

I just finished Prey and then went back to play Doom 3. The game looks sooooo crap now! But anyway, definitely worth a play to the finish. The weapon you get later in the game is my favourite ever!

Top game - just download the latest patch. Don't use any cheating flashlight mods or any of that nonsense, simply up your r_brightness and r_gamma if you are finding it too dark.

Apart from maybe HL2:Ep1, Doom3 is the best FPS I've played since Far Cry.

I always wondered if I shouldn't play through it again, now that I have a much better system to play it on.
After a while I realised once again, that it wasn't my GFX settings that let me down.
The game was fun for an hour or so playing, but the constant "cheap frights" started to annoy me to no end.
Guess I have gone off "brown Calvin Klein" games :P

I've been thinking about getting this game.

What do you think it would run like on the below specs...

AMD 64 4000+
2 Gig of Ram
XFX 7800GTX 256mb
74Gig Raptor Drive

Any comments would be welcome.

Cheers, guys

that game scared me! i like being scared but Doom3 took it to the extreme! infact i might play it again when i get my new card for my new system.

i *think* i got to the end and it was too hard so i gave up!

other than thata good game (scary though)

Runs fine on high (might be ultra high, cant really remember) and I have the same spec, minus the raptor :)

Its worth getting. I never completed it though. I got to the bit where about 5 of these really fat things come at you with rocket launchers i think, at that point i died and gave up. Lol.

Babies with bee wings that cry and claw at you...not cool, NOT COOL.

It was the sound effects of the baby noises sitting with the nasty little buggers that I found disturbing. Having kids at about the same age as the little devils certainly put a new slant on simply killing the 'baddies'.

Plus they were fast too.

All of the other scares were just jumps, but good fun. I remember only playing for an hour or so at a time.

I recommend an extra pair of these....
