So I'm planning a little power monster, I don't like big things any more.

CPU - Q6600
RAM - 4Gb OCZ
Hard drive - 500Gb Hitatchi & 250Gb Seagate
PSU - Corsair 620W
some fan controller for the fans

the new stuff...

Mobo - Zotac GeForce 9300-ITX
Graphics - Asus 4890 or GTX 275

Basically I canny find a case that I like so I'm thinking of some kind of custom case. And the other problem that I'm facing is lack of SATA ports. I have two hard drives that I would like to use and also my SATA DVD drive. I'm planning on using the eSATA port for the second hard drive so I'll have to figure something out with the case.

I'm thinking two different compartments...

- mobo up top

- PSU, hard drives & dvd drive on bottom

PSU on its side wth hard drives & dvd drive next to it... hard drives on top of the dvd drive.

Anyone good with CAD? lol Think ill have to resort to paint and maybe SketchUp to draw up a case design. Unless anyone knows of any suitable cases.

scrap 2 hdds and just get one. Will save LOADs of room. (Maybe a laptop hdd? Could get a laptop dvd drive too for more space.)

I have got a laptop hard drive that I have been using W7 on. But I want my 500gb as my main hard drive and then back up all my essential stuff like Uni work (which there is a lot of) only my 250Gb hard drive along with some other stuff.

I have been looking onto doing something similar and i came to the conclusion that the SG05 would be the best case.

However you would prob have to drop the card down to a 4850

I really don't like the look of the SG05 for some reason... some of the other Silverstone cases I do like the look of.

I have got a 4850 at the moment... want to upgrade... :)

ahhh :) mods you planning for it? Ive seen some crazy ones!

Put the psu where the hdd's go (cut holes etc) and can use a full size heatsink :P

I have some ideas. ;) All depends if I can afford to do them.

Watercooling may be on the cards as I have some stuff left over from my last WC build. Will have to wait and see. :)
