Now i know my 8800gtx wont, is there anything else on that list that will have problems?

Creative drivers are pretty rubbish at best.

Try it all and see is probably the best idea. Only takes 20mins to install and find out.

dont play either of those.

just to clarify, eax will not work in ANY game in vista (this applies to both x-fi and audigy cards). this is microsoft's doing - they've completely redesigned the audio system in vista and eax is no longer supported. the only hardware sound you'll get in games at the moment is openal as mentioned.... :)

Yeah going to cause some support headaches once people notice they can't select EAX anymore

in the RTM release my creative xfi had problems once i installed drivers for it :S

not sure if it was nvidia or creative drivers that gave me problems, but i'm going to wait until the drivers are out of beta before i try again

why have they been so retarded?

surely they didnt think that this wouldnt cause problems?

Because in the future it'll create better audio in the operating system. It's been known for ages, so blame the game developers for not going with OpenAL

the Creative Vista drivers do work though they're currently time restricted and as others have said EAX seems to have been disabled. Check your apps on http://www.iexbeta.com/wiki/index.php/Windows_Vista_Software_Compatibility_List
as various versions of Nero are known to have major issues.

EAX is not disabled - EAX won't exist on Vista. OpenAL works fine for EAX features. DirectSound in Hardware has gone in Vista, thats why your EAX based games won't work.

It's EAX that cannot be used - not Creative Hardware.
The Xi-Fi works absolutely fine under Vista so long as you don't try and use EAX under any of your games.

Once again this is the games houses that are causing the problem - they have as much notice about changes as everyone else, however for some reason they feel they are in charge and things only change when they are ready.
They failed to get around the idea of programming around a HAL - this lead to Windows 2000 becomming a "Business Only" OS and extending the life of the old Win9x code.
They are still failing to get around the idea of "You don't need to be an Administrator to play games on a PC" and thus are forcing people to use elevated rights for normal day to day stuff and this of course is how come machines get easily infected with add-ware, worms etc.

Games houses have got a lot to answer for...
