I'm now looking to go wireless due to just getting a PS3 and it not being near my modem.

I'm with Virgin Media and at present just have their normal Scientific Atlanta WebStar Modem running via Ethernet to my desktop PC.

Any recommendations for compatible equipment that will allow me to still use my desktop via an Ethernet connection while running my PS3 wirelessly & possibly my laptop (when I fix it)?

get a Cable / DSL modem that has an ethernet input

use the ethernet out of your cable modem to plug into the input of your router. Then plug your patch lead into the router into your pc

get a wireless cable / DSL modem and the PS3 and laptop then get the net wirelessly

only one thing to remember, Cable modems store MAC address' and will usually only connect to one. To get the cable modem to forget its mac address and connect to the router instead of your PC you need to turn it off and on again :)
