just wondering before i go wireless is it worth it?

The reason for me wanting to change is because when my step dad put the wired connection in he only made it so it reachs about 30cm from the wall, and when iwant to move my desk i can't which i kijnd of need to pretty soon.

I have looked at OcUK and found some pretty cheap hardware to go wireless but then i want to know what changes in speed i will be experiencing. I can't know forsure the speed of my interent atm as my mum is down stairs and i cna't be botherd but i know i can get speeds up to 300kb/s on emule

how would that be done? my step dad says he needs to put in a box and then another able would just plug into that and then the pc, kinda like and extension cable, except the middle part connecting both cables is on the wall. does that make sense?

any other simplier way of doing it?

No, what he's saying is right, but it can probably be done pretty cheaply, you can probably get a switch for less than £5, or you just get a straight through connector, a much better choice than wireless in this situation tbh.
