As above I'm after a new standard 16 piece cutlery set and want something Gold/brass/copper colored.

The trouble is I don't want something where the colour will wear off to silver stainless, (I wont be using a dish washer so thats not an issue) and need to have a decent weight/feel, and it also seems to be very nieche, as in not many available.

Anyone got experience with this? Seen some on amazon but teh quality looks a bit sketchy, maybe these are ok? Raw Cutlery Set 16 Pcs, Gold - Aida @ RoyalDesign.co.uk

These also look ok but out of stock near me and no delivery on this item https://www.argos.co.uk/product/9437014

Thanks

Eeesh, yeah the house of frasier one looks great, but a bit spendy! I could maybe stretch to £50 or £60...there seems to be a big gap between cheap tat and high end posh stuff. :(

I'd buy tat then in 5 years buy another tat set.

I recently rebought all my cutlery and the prices are what I deam "outrageous"

Ended up at IKEA obviously..... After a good hour or 2 in mid range Swedish specialist shops, no way was I spending over 100 quid.

Cutlery is expensive and to get something solid that is nice to use will be over £100 unfortunately. We replaced our IKEA set recently and I suspect we spent 160 or so, and that was without 'dessert knives' and soup spoons which we deemed unnecessary for the additional cost.

Good quality cutlery literally lasts forever so this isn't my advice

Find a Villeroy and Boch outlet.

I'm pretty sure I have that Habitat set, it's not the sturdiest but it's absolutely fine. The colour hasn't tarnished, the coatings haven't come off. It's cheap enough that you can just replace if necessary. Absolutely fine.

Oddly, the spendy house of fraiser set says:

TIPS FOR GENERAL
MAINTENANCE
OF CUTLERY
PVD ACD/GLITTER SWAROVSKI CRYSTALS GOLD 24 CARAT
WARRANTY
HANDLING
.....
snip...

• Use hot water, a light detergent and a soft sponge. Abrasive sponge or cloth are expressly
discouraged, as it will irreversibly scratch the pieces;
Cutlery with Swarovski crystals should be preferably washed by hand.

• Once the dishwasher has completed the washing cycle, it’s strongly recommended that all the
cutlery pieces be immediately removed and cleaned with a soft cloth, especially the knives.
Cutlery Gold Plated, or coated with PVD, ACD or Glitter must be exclusively washed in the
dishwasher machine. In any case of this cases, the washing temperature should not exceed 60°C and
the composition of the detergent used should not exceed a maximum of 10% phosphates.

So they have to be washed in the dish washer, but also have to be hand washed? sorce: https://www.herdmar.com/pt/en/produtos/careinstructions

Very confusing.. and the instructions seem to be in very bad english for such an expensive set, It doesn't exactly inspire me to splash out... sounds more like something you'd buy from ali-express.

That is kind of my conundrum, I want something ergonomic, and solid and nice feeling weight in the hand. I don't want a set that feels like it's been stamped out of a bit of sheet metal
