So on my i7 920, I noticed 2 of the gold pin/connectors have faded away. I haven't noticed anything wrong in my system apart from the occasional BSOD's when I try getting it to 4.2 ghz.

So far the system has been prime and IBT stable at 4GHz. Should I be worried ?

Your BSOD is probably down to it going out side of its current capability (drawing more power than the BIOS allows)
I get the same thing if i run my Thuban x6 over 4.15Ghz, turning up current capability to 130% fixes it, do the same if your Motherboards BIOS has such a thing.
Either that or you need more volts, or its over heating, whatever it is i doubt its because of the gold pin fading.

They are not solid gold anyway, usually copper with gold plating, i can't see the gold plating having such an effect, unless the copper is coroding, in which case it might cause issues.

First world problems :p

I wouldn't be worried about this, the causes of the BSODs are probably improper configuration since it's very hard to get a 920 running at 4.2GHz.
