gold plated dvi cable vs normal

is there any real difference in signal/picture quality etc etc between the two or does it not matter

from the cables ive bought that were gold plated, it is just the outside of the connector that is gold plated and the pins that actually carry the "data" were just normal pins

may as well get a pink coloured cable

Its digital so doesn't matter. Same with all this gold plated super duper HDMI nonsense. Its digital so its 1's and 0's. Analogue it can be very important.
