Hi,

At the moment I'm choosing between the Corsair CS650M, Superflower Leadex 650w.

Superflower seem to get rave reviews, but how loud are they? (I have a Be Quiet L8 at the moment).

Hi,

I have the Superflower 650w and is whisper quiet, in fact the fan barely comes on at all on my system, and even when it does I don't hear anything.

They really are a quality bit of kit.

Would you consider a Corsair RM650? Fully modular, gold rated and totally silent on low usage as the fan doesn't spin before reaching a certain load.
I have one and I don't regret it compared to the previous Akasa Venom 550 I had which was the most audible component of my rig.

I have an evga 750w g2and I've never heard it over my case fans. I don't think it spins up until a certain power as above, they do a 650w one as well and come with a 10 year warranty. They have superflower internals. Just a thought personally I'd get one of them or a superflower

id get the 750w g2 over the 650w superflower. better spec and warranty. I wouldnt run them in the super quiet fanless mode though, my 650w superflower ran suprisingly warm like that. I just leave the fan on now - i've still yet to hear it working but the psu stays nice and cool now.

Just don't get Corsair stuff - they do have good support etc, but so do EVGA and SuperFlower (SF through OcUK) and the internals on Corsair PSUs are no way near of the same calibre of SuperFlower PSUs, Corsair are fairly poor now

I asked evga dominik on that few weeks ago. they are probably working on smaller G2 wattages as we speak, but nothing concrete as of yet.

no problem with 750W, being semipassive, at least it stays in fanless mode longer, or you can add 2nd card to SLI without changing PSU.

Managed to find the EVGA in 650w flavour 'G1' rather than G2. Differences seem to be fan and warranty, not sure the £10 difference is worth going for the smaller one, may as well go for the extra.

There internals used to be good - i have a Corsair TX850 v2; it was disassembled by Jonnyguru.com and found to be as Seasonic unit with Corsair stickers on it
