Welcome to the Golden Joystick Awards, AKA the Oscars of the video gaming world.

Vote here and you’ll not only help decide which 2015-16 favourites win a coveted golden gong – but can also claim digital PC copies of Spec Ops: The Line* and Sid Meier's Pirates! as well as a Green Man Gaming Mystery pack, for just £1/$1/€1, thanks to our sponsors Green Man Gaming. (Usual terms and conditions apply.)

To secure your games, simply vote and we will contact you in October with instructions to get them. Best of luck – and happy voting!

* You need to be 18 or over to buy the game.

Page doesnt seem to work in Chrome. Very strange selection of games in the categories, eg No Mans Sky in just about every category including "Innovation of the year" !

Also 5. Best Multiplayer game

FIFA 17 is listed !!!??? Not even out yet!!

It would have been great if they put No Man's Sky in the best multiplayer category.

I am astonished that No Mans Sky is nominated in 7 categories (including game of the year !) and that Hello Games is nominated in the Best Studio of the year...

and even that Civ 6 is nominated in game of the year and isnt even out yet so the general public hasnt even played it !

Thanks, I admit I didn't bother reading it. To be honest I had hardly played any of the games in any of the categories so just troll voted for no man's sky whenever i could.

Voted. Skipped the ones I didn't feel qualified to answer. :)

Agree that there are some odd choices in there!

Makes me laugh, why is NMS or Hello Games even mentioned in anything to do with the Golden Joystick Awards. Unless of course they have a category for most over hyped, mis-sold, money grabbing pile of **** game that was still a financial success thanks to preordering idiots then yeah, NMS wins that by a stellar mile.

In all seriousness, if NMS wins ANY award, then the whole thing is just a complete sham.

What do you guys do when voting? Do you choose the games that you've actually played or pick something that just looks good from what you've read/heard?

This time I just voted for anything just to get the codes. Its a complete joke. If anything the Witcher should win but I fear what actually will.

Two Three (found another) of the games nominated are not even out yet and one has been critically panned. What does that suggest to you ? Marketing back handers ?

Some decent choices but annoys me when they do things like include Civ VI which isn't even released, just makes the whole thing seem pointless, and had to chuckle at all the No Mans nominations. I just skipped the categories where I couldn't make an informed choice. Pretty impressive that Witcher 3 Blood and Wine gets quite a few nominations for DLC, and deservedly so, more impressive than most full games.
