Hey all

Can anyone tell me what the main differences are between the goldring dr50's and the goldring dr100's? are the dr100's worth the extra?

thanks in advance

in short yes, just seem better made, more comfy, and sound more detailed and refined, bass is also better controlled. I dropped on and got a brand new pair of DR100 for £30 3 months ago.

I disagree. I owned DR50s and DR100s at the same time for a while. The DR100s were certainly warmer sounding with more bass but I found the DR50s were more detailed and cleaner. Comfort was practically the same. It just came down to preference on pleather (DR50) vs velour (DR100) and whether you preferred a detailed, clinical (DR50) or warm (DR100) sound signature. Form factor is otherwise identical.

The DR150s have the same form factor yet have the best characteristics of both sets.

Given that the DR50s can be had for £10-15 these days, I wouldn't pay that much more for the DR100s.

Never used DR100s but I'll back up what Uriel said about the DR50s. They have a lot of clarity, bass could be better but it's still incredible.

My only criticism is the treble is slightly harsh.

DR100 have more slightly clarity than the DR50's from my experience (used both professionally ) but need running in as treble is harsh to begin with (not as bad as DR50) - DR100 do have a warmer sound though as the bass is better reproduced

Very happy with the DR100's I picked up for £13 new :)

DR150's good but Grado SR60i 's are better for same sort of outlay
