Hey guys I can't find my NS1000 3.5mm jack any more, does anyone know which replacement cable I should get, I'm worried about whether it would fit into the headphone jack in the cup?

Thanks

Hopefully someone knows of a replacement cable. I can't understand why Goldring have a recessed entry for the cable, the DR series, the sockets are flush with the casing, allowing any 3.5mm cable to be used.

I had the NS1000, which jack are you missing? I bought a 5m extension cable for £2.50 delivered, cant you just use the same

I think he is missing the cable that plugs into the NS1000's. The replacement would need the correct size plug to fit into the recess in the casing. Bad design idea IMO.

The NS1000's are newer then the DR series to my knowledge. Someone must have had the great idea to recess the socket, meaning people who lose their cable probably end up paying Goldring a nice sum for a replacement, rather than spend the time looking for one to fit. Not surprising really, considering buying headphones from Goldring direct is more expensive than most other places, bar the NS1000's. Maybe they feel the £50 being charged by the Jersey Island website is too little, so think people should pay extra for a replacement cable. :p

Not that I have seen. Belkin mini stereo cable for iPod on the famous auction, looks like the casing isn't too large. Might fit, but I have never seen the recess in the NS1000 casing. The casing looks a smaller diameter than the cable that came with my DR150's, which isn't as fat as some 3.5mm cables I have seen. Also found another cable, considerably cheaper than the Belkin one, looks like it's got a smaller diameter than most.

Forum rules prevent me from post a link, but I have included a picture of the cheaper one.

While searching in the forest I found this: The EXPECT iphone audio adapter, looks like it could be the answer?

That way I can use any 3.5mm cable afterwards?

Apologies for the necro, didn't think it was worth starting a new thread for.

I can confirm that Belkin's retractable mini-stereo cable fits the recessed socket and the retraction isn't strong enough to pull out the jack however you move your head.

RRP is $20, but I got mine in John Lewis's B&M store for £8.95. As a 1.5m retractable, it may even be worth using over the supplied cable if you don't have a problem.

Sorry for resurrecting an old thread, but just wanted to share that the Belkin iPhone headphone adapter fits into the 3.5mm slot on the Goldring NS1000 headphones.

So by using that (and it costs about £2 online) you can then use any 3.5mm male-to-male cable.

Thanks for this, I'll keep that in mind in case I lose mine:p

My cable has just died on me yesterday so I found there's quite a few different "slim" 3.5mm jacks on a well known rainforest site. I went for "Ex-Pro® - ProAV OFC Gold - Super Slim Flexible Audio Cable 3.5mm to 3.5mm - 3m [300cm]" and will report back on them once they arrive.

Hey Krono5 - I have been looking for a suitable replacement for the cable on my DR150's and have found none that are either long enough or flexible enough or have a small enough ferrule but these look like they might be an option. can you report on what you think about them assuming you did get them in the end?

I've not come across any reasonably price cable as supple and pliable as the original that comes with the DR150. They can be bought, but they are expensive. It shows what a joke the price of some cables are, when the same cable that comes bundled with headphones costs nearly as much as the headphone themselves.

The one mentioned by Krono5 doesn't look pliable. Heck, some people have complained that what is pictured, is not what you get. From my experience, you can't get a cable as nice as the DR150 one, unless you cough up. Shame.
