Evening,
Anyone know where I can get a pair please?
I'll be trying the local dealer tomorrow.... Theres a set of them on eBay for £117 :eek::eek: not paying that... I did ask for VW part numbers but they said no :D

My rear is All done with a new arm and blade long ago.... Just the front to do.
 
MK5 Arms usually go straight on I think, don't know a lot about it but my old MK4 was converted to MK5 aero arms front and rear :)
 
Just call a different Dealer and see if they can help with the part number. Theres no reason why they shouldn't give it to you - if not call the freephone number on the VW website and they should be able to help if you complain about poor service.
 
You can get aero blades (Bosch) from VW for something like £20 for the standard arms if you don't mind a bit of a lump where the blade attaches.

All a set of new arms will give you is a flatter clip, not worth the hassle IMO unless you're ultra fussy about the looks.
 
Personally i think it's well worth converting over, so much so i did.

I got the front and rear arms plus bosch blades from an VW specialist site, cost something like £99 all in.

Thanks for the EPC link, but can't find aero arms in there.
It's the text version of ETKA by the looks of it.
I don't know, I asked for VW part no's with A reply of "we don't give out part numbers", this was from vw_teeside on eBay. Probably don't want me going to my local dealer for cheaper?

I think they look a damn lot cleaner than the current chunk of metal I have at the moment. Bit each to their own.

Which website would that be? A few of the VW such sites From the first years in the Mk4's life have ceased to exist... :rolleyes:

Got some new no. Plate surrounds on the way... Only wiper arms to do really....
 
It's not around anymore, i was trying to find it the other month when i needed new blades.

Watch when you pull the arms off the spindles, i snapped one of mine clean off and had to buy a new wiper rack.

I see where ur coming from Kenai. I've done the back with a Polo arm and a Sharan blade. Just want to get the front done now.
Do you still have your mk4? Or do I recall you sold her?
 
Still got mine.

If you can wait, i'll get a photo of my wipers tomorrow for you, they're really not obtrusive at all with the bosch wipers, i've never understood why people go to the bother of changing the actual arms really.

Yeah, no performance mods, I can only get reasonable insurance prices from Admiral still and they tell me to get bent when I mention a remap :p

I don't get bothered enough by that to consider it worth spending £50 on some new arms, you may do though :p

That blue is stunning! I bet She comes up lovely with a good clay and polish. Bloody lovely colour.
 
No nothing missed at all, as I say, they were actually an 'upgrade kit' from VW, was about £20 or so IIRC for the pair, come in a VW branded box etc. They were a huge improvement from the old frame style ones that were on there.

I think they're regular Bosch universal fit aerotwin wipers though, just in a VW box.

The blue is a lovely colour, definitely makes it feel worthwhile when i've spent a bit of time cleaning it! A bit different from the legions of black, grey and silver cars in the work car park too.
 
Thanks, I'm desperate for new wipers so those will be the choice.
Halfords have them for about £22 I think. Need to pop there tomorrow to get some new no. plates.

That's the shade of blue I wanted but couldn't find any decent cars at the age,mileage etc in that colour. Settled on an Indigo Blue, darker and mettalic, in the end.
She does shine after a good clean!
