Golf VAG-COM in Crawley

Just wondering if anyone has a VAG-COM i could hook my Golf upto just so I can do a check that all is ok as I only bought it 2 weeks ago.

How old is the Golf? I have pre-CanBus VCDS Lite which I use on my 2001 S3 to read codes etc. I'm in Woking.

Sorry should have said its a Y reg so 2001, its a 1.6SE auto if that helps.

Buy a generic lead from a well known auction site and download the free version of VCDS (they've just updated it), do the free registration and it's basically everything you want for beer money, you can then read codes and do a full diagnostic report whenever you want.

I have one of these that I got for my 2003 R32 which I no longer have and therefore no longer need the cable - yours for the price of postage if it's the right one for you? Email in trust.

Awesome mate. So how do I go about checking if its the right cable? Should I go take a picture of the connector on the car so you can see if it will fit?

I think it will fit seeing that they're both MK4 golfs. Take apic and I'll let you know. You know where the port is yes? I'll have to find the bugger too, it's been a year since I last saw it lol.
