Hi,
I changed from pain in the you know where GeIL DDR2 PC6400 2Gb kit to the 2Gb Ballistix pc6400 kit(4-4-4-12 2T).
The bios auto set it to 5-5-5-18 so I changed it.
I have an X2 64 5200+ Cpu so it does not use the ram at 800Mhz so what do I need to do to get the ram running at 800?
Alter the divider to????

Hi,

You need to set your divider to 1:1 for 800Mhz - look in your bios it should have an option to set core memory speed, it would help if you gave us more info such as what board you have.

Board is Abit KN9 Ultra.
In Cpu clock and voltage there is:
Cpu Operating speed
CPU External Clock

So what one is for core memory speed?
CPU Clock=2600MHz
Multi=13
HTT=200MHz
HTT Speed =1000MHz
Memory Clock=371.4MHz
DRAM:FSB Ratio=CPU/7
??????"The problem is when the CPU clock multiplier is an odd number. For an AM2 CPU with a clock multiplier of 13x, theoretically its memory bus divider would be of 6.5. Since the AMD64 memory bus doesn’t work with “broken” dividers, it is rounded up to the next higher number, seven in this case. So while this CPU will work at 2.6 GHz (200 MHz x 13), its memory bus will work at 371 MHz (742 MHz DDR) and not at 400 MHz (800 MHz DDR), making the CPU to not achieve the maximum bandwidth the DDR2 memory can provide.

This is the case of Athlon 64 X2 5000+. As it works internally at 2.6 GHz multiplying its HTT clock by 13x, it can access memory only up to 742 MHz and not 800 MHz.

"
Mine is 5200+ (2.6GHz multi is 13x)so it cannot access memory at 800 Mhz, only up to 742.
So like I asked, can I do anything to get it to acces memory at 800 Mhz instead of 742????
