Hi all,

Just completed Gone Home, an interesting game, did not think I would enojoy it but did.

With most games I struggle to put the time in but with this I could just bail and save.

Any similar style of adventure games. I was looking at Stanley Parable but will probably wait for a sale.

The way this was raved about in some quarters I expected much more. It was mildly interesting but tbh it felt more like a sixth former's attempt at being clever and edgy than much else. I thought the Stanley parable was significantly better.

Im tempted by Gone Home every time I see it on sale but have yet to get it lol. I played Stanley Parable and while quirky and interesting I rapidly lost interest. The narration was the best part.

Thanks for the input!

To be honest I missed the hype and just went in expecting an indie game.

I do have Amnesia The Dark Descent but I prefer playing games like that at night and it's sometimes during the day at weekends I get a chance to play.

Completely agree with this

I got it in a bundle, the game is very short .. it's one of those 'find x' point and click story games.
I wasn't sure what to expect from it but from some reviews thought it might have some scary parts. (It really didn't)

It came across as a story a sixth former from the 90's would have wrote.

The best aspects I guess are the items from the 90's, parts of the storyline seem more like they are from the 80's :(

I put it on linux (as it says on steam linux support) and had nothing but trouble with it so ended up putting it on windows.

I also tried it (Ubuntu) but my laptop disliked it.

Just after something a bit different.

Just tried Deadly Premonition as I have that, not sure that's the game to play next. I want more searching less shooting.

If you're after a good puzzler I'd also recommend Nelson tethers. It's not first person but the puzzles are better (and so is the story in my opinion)

I like the look of that puzzle agent! I also like that it is telltale games, me thinks this is another for the wish list!

The vanishing of ethan carter sounds similar, not tried it yet.

I love dear esther, hardly any interaction though except moving through the enviroment taking in an awesome story

If you liked Dear Esther, you'll definitely like The Vanishing of Ethan Carter.
