Gone off gaming?

I havent played any game now for over 2 weeks, i dont think ive played any game other than minesweeper for about a month :eek:

To say i spent about £800 not so long ago on new parts im quite shocked. I just dont have the urge to play games at the moment. Im just using it for music and interent. I could do that on a second hand £50 machine! :(

anyone else like this?
 
This time of year, a lot of people curb their gaming down a lot. With the clan I'm in, there is probably only 3 of the 15 members playing regularly, and some have stopped altogether. The weather, exams and World Cup all play a part.
Don't force yourself to play because it won't help. Wait for a new game to come out and give it a try.
 
I sometimes get like that, where I just can't be bothered but recently I reinstalled WoW and now my gaming addiction is back.
 
I have this problem too. I play too much in a short space and burn out. Just gotta rest up and you'll get the urge again.
 
Been like that for a while - got a nice shiny rig, steering wheel and all the cool little extras that completes the setup and now a pricey monitor.....

No desire to play anything at all :(

I don't like football so it's not WC related, the weather is just awful here (wildly unpredictable right now) so I can write that off.

The only thing I can think is that with my job/life getting to me a little recently I've been distracted :( Come to think of it though I did force myself to play both SiN and HL2 EP1 recently so it's not all bad.

However of late I'll happily sit for hours browsing about 3 forums with scrubs running on endless loop along side the browser - something must be wrong with me :(

I'd also say that even when I'm not playing many games, it's not really down to boredom, more due to doing other things. Even if I was locked in a room with nothing to do but play games for a month, I still wouldn't get bored (providing of course I had a fast pc and whatever titles I wanted).
 
Not really any games to be excited about anymore, at least not any coming soon anyway.

Im just recently getting back into Operation: Flashpoint though, should tide me over till Armed Assault.
 
I'm the same matey. Got my £800 PC in September.. Just can't be bothered with gaming anymore. Maybe the occasional blast on CSS every now and again but noway near as much as I did.

However, i havent gamed for 2 months now... so its nothing to do with the World Cup or weather... Just don't get any enjoyment out of gaming atm

well, its the summer, few games come out now, theres always been a dip in the middle of the year, css and bf2 are sorting me out atm

don't forget old age or should I say getting older. I used to love playing games from my pre teens in my vic 20 years upto leaving school with my amiga, then I got a car.. thinking about it, beer, cars women, dope and getting older killed my gaming
 
well i sold my 3800x2 and graphics card for a celeron, due to me not playing games anymore. thought i was a waste of money getting £££ of hardware every month. Im glad i did now. :)
 
I've kinda gone off gaming because I always feel like there is no time to play them because of exams, school etc., but in holidays I start playing again and get right back in :cool:
 
Same here, i aint gamed properly for years, i put a game on for about 20 minutes if that then i lose interest, i spend all my time on the net, ive been going back through HL2 at the minute as i got ep 1, but i think ill be dead before i finish it again the rate im going, i just can't be bothered, and theres nothing out that makes me go wow i gota have this, unless its cos im getting old. :D
 
Pretty much all i do now i've left college is practice with rest of team, all 6 of us are on most hours of the day on CoD2 doing strats etc etc. Only time im not playing is when i sleep (not a lot in summer) go out on friday night or when i work at weekends.
 
I had moments like this also due to the fact that games like Doom3, EQ2, FEAR , Quake4 , Condemned and any other nice graphic game wouldn’t run on my old rig.

120 GIG HDD
Creative DVD Rom
Plextor DVD writer

So I was stuck with games like
COD, TFC, IL2, Lemmings (when I was really bored), Heagemonia, C&C Generals, LFS, Guild wars, Wow , Eve-Online.

Even then I had trouble with very low FPS especially in Live for speed, EQ2, Wow.

Now I have a decent sys (that’s out of date already) I have had so much fun playing F.E.A.R and having a nice smoother fps rate. But I still get heavily bored and think what else can I do?!! Usually I go to sleep or watch the oldies of Top Gear on sky then try again, if not then head to sleep. Wake up then all charged and ready
 
maybe its the fact I work with computers all day (10am - 6pm) i get home and just want to chill out, check mails a bit of music then get out the house. The last game i properly played was DOD source. Oblivion took my interest for about an hour then after looking at nice grass/sky i gave up, are well.

Plus the fact ive started using a new skill toy/hobby and im hooked. (poi spinning/fire spinning and anything i can spin spinning! ) off topic i know but heres me doing a basic spiral wrap
