Gone off gaming?

I have got a lot more selective of what I play. There have not been any releases this year that have had me excited, so I have gone back to older games. I am currently replaying Neverwinter Nights and I am thinking about getting hold of Baulders Gate 2 for a bit of in depth gaming.

I think I may have completely outgrown FPS's. I did not even enjoy Episode 1 which I know is a good game. At first I was really excited about Oblivion and then after about 10 hours I realized that there was absolutely no challenge or depth to the game.

I am still very excited about gaming but not about the games that have been released recently. I have spent a fortune on keeping my PC up to date and for what - rpg's from over 3 years ago.

Anybody know of a good strategy type game with no resource management (base building).

something like mediaval total war or rome total war. medieval 2 is coming out soon so that new pc (may) be put to good use. I await C&C 3 now but i dont think itll be as good as redalert 1.

MSN and music has ruined my gaming. I just love to chill out with a bit of music, browse the web and talk to contacts. The only game that has made a dent in this so far is Oblivion, which is the first game since Farcry that I've really gotten into.

I'm not bored of them. Just not got the time right now really :( Well I have but I'm always too tired.
Taken on a lot of extra hours at work at the moment and depending which branch I'm at, sometimes I don't get in till 7 and then I just can't be bothered to play any games. So I end up watching the football instead and usually falling asleep in front of the tv if it's a boring match :o
Been playing on the DS Lite a bit, otherwise that's about it.
Hopefully when the progression server on EQ1 launches next week, I'll be able to find more time for that :)

Bit ironic because when I was busy with Uni work I thought 'ah well, be a lot easier once that's done' and I've ended up with more stuff to do since finishing Uni instead :o

Taken a couple of days off in the middle of July so hoping to keep that week clear of extra hours so I can have a decent break.

When you dont work you have all the time to play games but no money. When you work you have all the money but no time. Its a cruel, cruel world.

Nope, not at all. But then again I'm not one of these FPS junkies so I actually have some variety in my games.

i have played other games, diabolo 2, take no prisoners, dungeon keeper, some game that had 6 men and was turn based and there was aliens. and yes i have even played starcraft when it came out for a good week or 2!

Only a week or 2  ;)

I play a wide variety of games on my PC, 360 and DS. I mostly play "real life" multiplayer (card games too) so I never get bored of games.

Well my Crucial Ballistix went up the creek in Febuary and I still havn't got the replacements from OCUK so I've been without a gaming computer for 5 months :roll eyes:
However, appart from HL2:Episode 1 and playing Red Orchestra which I had been getting into, I havn't really felt like I've been missing out on much.

Now the summers here I will mostly be working, sailing/surfing or drinking.

I havent played any game now for over 2 weeks, i dont think ive played any game other than minesweeper for about a month

To say i spent about £800 not so long ago on new parts im quite shocked. I just dont have the urge to play games at the moment. Im just using it for music and interent. I could do that on a second hand £50 machine! :(

anyone else like this?

mate get football manager....play it thru out the day...and in my case the night too :D

msn and world cup and *gasp* myspace(cmon.. I'm on study leave and have nothing to do :p) have ruined cod2 for me. I rarely play it now.

Will be back full swing probably winter time :p

I haven't played much at all since the weather has heated up. I just don't like sitting in front of a computer sweating and sticking to my seat when it's nice outside.

With weather like this It just doesn't feel right. ;)

I'm very much a winter game player.

I'm not a massive gamer, i maybe play a few hours a week then maybe a few hours at the weekend. I have never gone off it since i built my first PC last march, i love playing FPS games and could never get bored of them as I'm always trying to improve.

Gaming just got so boring, haven't played a game now for over 18 months. Haven't even seen an X-Box 360 in the flesh and couldn't care less. There's just nothing new gameplay wise at all.

I tried pray demo last night but started to get bored after about the 3rd level. If im honest I was wishing it was the end. I might just get demos as they are nice and short :)

it was good to see an fps which differs from the rest, had some interesting parts but still got a little bored of it
