Oh dear...
This has just happend, I should've known better than to tinker!
Built myself a cheap but effective pc a few weeks back and decided after a few weeks of running in to stretch it's legs.
I built, based around Antec Sonata II case, an Asrock K8NF4G-SATA2 mobo with an X1800XT 512mb and 2gb Corsair xms3200 ram. I used my existing clawhammer 3200 754 cpu (as I hate throwing stuff out
) and after hearing the results people have been having with this cheap wonder I decided to give o/cing a go.
Well I managed to to get some good results, but getting late I decided to return it back to stock and knock it on the head for the night, this is where it went rather hazy, literally..
I saved changes in BIOS and waited for it to POST, screen went black and nothing happend, all of a sudden I couldn't see anything the room full of smoke *panic* rip case out of desk/yank out any cables/kick open patio doors/dump case in garden/open windows and doors before I die of smoke inhalation, jeeeez h corbett I've not moved that fast since, well a long time!
Just brought the case back in doors after wafting cushions around the conservatory getting rid or the putrid electrical burning smell/smoke, opened it up and what had caught fire....??
I'll save that for the morning, keep you lot guessing.
