Gonna bite the 1070 bullet....Just which one?

So after weeks of waiting for prices to drop, I don't think I'm going to get anywhere with that so I've decided to just bite the bullet and get a 1070. Sold my 970 before it came out and the prices drooped, so currently cardless and eager to get back in action.

So my main choices are the inno 3d herculez for £379.99:

The zotac amp for £399.99:

Or any founders edition which I can get for £399.99.

I refuse to pay a penny over £399.99 for a graphics card so everything else is a no go.

So my main problem is that I have a pretty cramped HTPC case (Silverstone lc17) so a decent blower cooler would be preferable. However the reviews for the FE cooler have been pretty bad, so the inno might be better even in my case, and it's cheaper. Are the FE cards that bad?? I can't find much info on the inno, has anyone bought one? The zotac looks nice but might not fit in my case, also I'd rather spend less on the inno if there's not much difference with my case.

Any thoughts?

inno 3D seem to have higher boost, and cheaper, there isnt any reviews to compare, you just gonna have to pick on clock and looks

Just pick the one you like best, you won't see any difference in normal use.

If you want to clock the guts out of it to get a few extra FPS go with the highest spec one. :)

To be fair, I like the FE the best by far in terms of looks, just was worried about the bad reviews for the cooler.

I'm definitely tempted by the inno at £379.99, which actually seems pretty reasonable compared to the price of anything else.... would be nice to have some user feedback if there is any here. Would also like to clock it up a bit if possible....

the zotac cards are fantastic this gen also I'm starting to like the gainward GLH cards I'll definitely be grabbing a 1080 Ti card of one of them

I dont like inno as it seems like a cheapo brand.

I would probably spend a little bit more and get a Gigabyte G1. But then my last two cards have been Gigabyte so I am biased. :D

The Zotac would be my choice of the two you listed.

Just ordered a EVGA 1070 FTW from a store in Canada for £345, going to pick it up tomorrow! Visiting family out here so I can't use it till I am back in the UK :mad:

Cracking price that :)

Hopefully should be a cracking price for some time too. Luckly for me I have a Canadian bank account and when I last took money over I got over 2 to 1 on the dollar so I have dodged the current rate ;)

Went EVGA for the world wide warranty.

Mad thing is, over here the FTW is only $4 more than the SC. In UK its currently £44 more!

Does that factor in the import duty costs? Otherwise I might have to look into importing pc parts myself

It will be in my suit case mate, I always pop over to the USA as CPU's are cheaper there. I have imported watercooling gear over from Canada before, royal mail sting you with handling fees. Was still cheaper than buying from the UK though.

It wouldn't be worth importing a GFX card, not cheap enough with the recent exchange rates after tax and import charges. Better off buying from OCUK.

Ah okay fair enough. I knew they always screw you on importing stuff, thought you had some secret or something

You missed an important one: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/pali...ddr5-pci-express-graphics-card-gx-03g-pl.html

If you care about noise, the Palit cooler is one of the very best this year. Completely silent up to 60 degrees (turns off the fans) and ludicrously quiet on the standard fan profile.

So for noise -> palit

For warranty -> zotac

90%+ of 1070's will do 2.0-2.1 GHz core and 9000 MHz memory, so don't worry too much beyond cooler and warranty.

Thanks but like the Zotac, won't fit in my case. 90% gonna be a cheapskate and go for the inno.....

Only go for the Inno if you don't mind noise. I had one and returned it because I found it too loud.

Obviously it isn't LOUD but coolers like the Palit or MSI gaming are significantly quieter.

I have the inno3d 1080. Past 60c it is loud with a strange pulsing noise, although very quiet up until then. I modded my case to add 2x 120 air intake fans blowing directly on the gpu. It now stays around 45c.

Haven't tried it today though :D
