Both my dad's ride as does my mother. I should really as one of my old man owns EBC and half my family race (Ian Simpson) and my god father has been through every team in the moto gp doing devlopment.

I hold a full UK driving licence CAT B, B1 & FKP

Anyway the idea is to get my full licence for 2 wheels and then rock up on a bike.

I can already ride, my track bike is an Sp1. Just need to do this legaly.

Am over 21

So whats the best route and fastes way to go about this?

Unfortunately you're going to have to jump through all the hoops, even though you can already ride.

You need...

CBT pass
Theory test pass
Module 1 pass
Module 2 pass

You might be best doing the theory test first and then doing an intensive direct access course. It will definitely be worth getting some tuition on the road just to tailor your riding to what the examiner wants to see. When I did my direct access the other student was a motocross racer. :D

What you've listed there is the direct access route right?

Both routes are the same. Direct access just means doing it on a bike that's got at least a 500cc engine. As you're over 21, you can do direct access and get a full licence.

Okay cool.

I just booked my motorbike theroy test, it's on the 28th @ 9:45am was £31. Hopefully i'll pass that then it's case of booking a corse.

What sorta price is a corse?

It depends who you go with and how many days you take. I paid £550 for my course which was two days on the mod 1 and two days on the mod 2, but then again I'd already done my CBT previously.

My CBT from 16 has well ran it's corse now! LOL

Pretty expensive really. Well get the theory done then i can go from there i guess

Recently for me:

CBT: £130
Theory: £31
Mod 1: £295
Mod 2: £315

Test fee's included.

I also spent another £240, £120 per day, on some tuition - extra day on a 125 road ride after my CBT and then again to get used to a 500 before tackling my Mod 1. Money well spent as I passed first time.

Just spoke with a local school where my old man did his and i did my CBT manny years ago

4 days total, CBT 125cc and conversion 500c, Mod 1 & Mod 2 £635.50

£666.50 if we inc the theory i just booked

sounds about right as was roud that price I paid. hasnt changed much since I did it nearly 2 years ago.

whens it going back to one test instead of mod 1 and 2?
