Ok. So a few years ago I tried a first hard-line build and mistakingly ordered monsoon fittings to go with xspc tubing. Time and money got the better of me and I just ended up with a soft tubing build.

Fast forward to now and I've come across one other problem....I've bought the thermaltake 900. It's massive! Which I love. But before I run in and spend a few hundred on the wrong fittings - I'm assuming that the best idea is to stick to the same brand with the tubes and fittings?

I will need tubing longer than 50cm, so that limits me. What brand would people recommend? I tried the monsoon fittings last time because they were cheapest, and whilst I'd like to save money I don't want to compromise on quality. I'm going with the xspc 270 combo as I still have that. I'm only doing a single cpu loop for the time being.

Thanks in advance :)

You can't go wrong with this tube/fitting combo.

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £17.60 (includes shipping: £4.66)

As for the 50cm length, either incorporate a temp sensor, a drain or a straight coupling.

Total: £5.73 (includes shipping: £2.74)

Thanks. I had thought about a coupling for joining the tubes, so I'll have a look and see what my options are.

Is the monsoon stuff lower quality? I do prefer the xspc and ek stuff. The only long tubing I can find for xspc is in packets of 20 which might be a bit overkill but then they do have my favourite fittings looks wise! Ek seems a bit pricier too. Worth it though? Where is the 14mm 1m long xspc PETG? :P

I have used Alphacool acrylic tubing which comes in 80cm lengths. I used the frosted stuff and found it very tight in Alphacool fittings although once in, thelst inspired confidence.

Sadly I don't think OcUK stock it. It'd be easy enough to use a couple/T-joiner as mentioned.

Thanks for the help.

Would you choose these to work with 14/10 tubing?

or

I've already got the 14mm triple seal fittings in my basket.

Edit:

Or would I be better using this

with the 14mm fittings?

What are you trying to achieve? Fittings will have a male thread so you will need female thread on the adapters. Which means the first and third links but not the second. Obviously the first link is for extending straight pieces and the third lets you make 90° angles :)

I think the way I'm planning my bends, it would probably be best if I got the 90 degree one. Most likely the join will be in the back of the case heading up to the radiator. I really just wanted to make sure I'm buying the correct stuff.

Thanks for your help :). I'm sure more questions will arise as I start to build!!!
