Good 92mm fans

Hello

I need to get a couple of 92mm case fans for my new silverstone case. Good airflow (~50 cfm) is more important than noise, though I would prefer them to be a fair amount quieter than my gigabyte g cooler pro stuck on max setting (very noisey :( ).

I was looking at the Zalman ZM-F2 92mm and the silverstone FM92 ones. Which are better? Any other good recommendations?

Must be 92mm btw.

Thanks.

Bit off topic but what cpu are you cooling that needs your g-power pro to be turned to max?? Got mine on the min speed and my clocked 3700 sd idles @ 29'c and hits 42'c max after 20+ hours of prime testing. Turning the fan to full speed only knocks off 2'c max off the load temps and isn't worth it for the extra noise.

same ere

Hehe, I have an opty [email protected]. The reason it's stuck on max is cus I don't have any spare bays to fit the external fan controller, and I accidentally broke the backplate controller when trying to disassemble it. :(

Also my current case is 5 years old and has terrible case cooling.

So does any one have any recommendations for case fans? Anybody?

:(

akasa ambers have a good noise/performance ratio

P.S i would consider buying a fn control for that G-power cooler or atleast connect it up to the motherboard and control the speed using speedfan

You can do that with speed fan!!! Why did no one tell me sooner!!! I thought it was just for monitoring temps.

How do you do it and what's a good rpm for the gigabyte? Thanks.

I looked at the airflow of the akasa's and it seemed a little low (~30cfm iirc). What about the anyone had experience with the zalman's or the silverstones?

You wont get much higher than 30cfm with a 92mm unless it sounds like a tornado. The YStechs specs are good though, not sure whether theyre true

thermaltake do one and it silent or at least quite. has multydirectional intake too(slots in side of housing) helps reduce noise and keep airflow high at 56cfm

Hmm, thanks for that. So what is a tornado in dB?

The zalman one is 36dB on max with 53cfm, and thesilverstone one is 48dB on max with 80cfm. Is that loud? As a comparison, how would that compare to a g cooler on max.

What model is the thermaltake one?

Cheers

tt one is the A2013 one. 21db at 52cfm is quite good. if you had room you could get a fan adapter and use a 120mm tt thunderblade which does 78cfm at 21db but it might be a tight fit depending on ** case

Thanks, but it's a but too late now cus I went with the silverstones ones when I found out that they were actually 110mm fans in a 92mm frame, and are aparently silent at 50% max speed but still shift loads of air. I just hope they fit OK. :(

Thanks anyway.

taken straight from the tt website. own one myself and it is quiet

I know theyre from the website but the manufacturers lie about these, they exaggerating the cfm and reduce the db a little
