Good Adobe CS Alternative?

I was just wondering if anyone could recommend any viable alternatives to the Adobe Creative Suite packages. I have been looking for Adobe CS3 (due to cost) but it still seems so expensive. I need an image editing app, a GOOD web app (I happen to like Dreamweaver (I hand code) and it's great with the help it gives) and something for designing logos, flyers, etc.

For the image editing, I have been considering Adobe Photoshop Elements which seems great but I'm stuck regarding Dreamweaver, Indesign and Illustrator alternatives.

Any advice would be great

if you are using them in a professional capacity (i.e making money from what you produce) then you really shouldn't have an issue with the CS suite , it is the best tools for the job.

Off the top of my head, free software you may find interesting:
Inkscape - Illustrator
Scribus - Indesign
Gimp - photoshop

I didn't get on with Gimp when I tried it. I prefer Pixelmator which is a lovely app, Acorn also seems pretty popular but I've stuck with Pixelmator. There's always Photoshop Elements too.
