Good breathable waterproof jackets?

I cycle in the rain quite a bit, and wearing the waterproof jackets I have seems to result in me getting way too hot.

I was wondering if any cyclists/walkers could recommend any good waterproof jackets, that also rate highly in the breathability stakes?

Not sure how much you want to spend but I use a SprayWay Equator Gore-Tex one at work & it's great, completely dry and very breathable. I'd imagine all Gore-Tex ones are pretty similar:)

Pertex: Not waterproof, but highly breathable. Will fend off light to average rain for about 20-30 mins. A lot of people into high activity sports think it’s a good compromise for keeping the weather off for short periods of time. Relativley cheap. Very light, so when not in use, a top can pack down to the size of an orange.

eVENT: Is waterproof. Significantly more breathable than the best gortex, but not quite as breathable as Pertex. Expensive.

Gortex Paclite: The last time I checked, this was the most breathable Gortex, but not as breathable as eVENT. Expensive.

I've got a Altura Stretch Phase jacket for MTBing / running.

Bargain price from Merlin of £49:

It's made from Sympatex, another waterproof, windproof breathable fabric. It's a good cut / design (dropped tail etc). I suspect eVent might breath better but it's took a winter of MTBing in some pretty grim conditions.

I nearly went for a Berghaus Gore-Tex Paclite/XCR that was around £100, but I bought two of the Altura's instead. At some point you'll stack or get attacked by brambles, so damaging a £50 jacket is easier on the wallet! IMHO at least.
