Hi guys my first proper build to replace my aging AMD Athlon X2 6000+ & 8800gt system.
been waiting for a reason to upgrade and i think bf3 is it! eyefinity looks amazing so that is my ultimate goal. Only put one 6950 for now will crossfire it if the single card doesn't perform very well and when i can afford it. only will have three 19" 1440x900 monitors as I've already got 2. already got hdd (samsung spinpoint 1tb), OS(win7 64bit) and DVD drive. let me know what you think and any upgrades or similar performing better value parts. The main thing i'm not sure about is the psu.
cheers

don't buy the cooler. it's pure crap in every respect, from performance to efficiency.

Go for silver arrow / something from the bequiet range / A70 / etc

yes pretty much the rest looks good to go. Will you need windows?

Great, no i have windows 7 64 bit home premium. What do you think about a single 6950 with three monitors? will probably do a bit of overclocking when i learn the correct methods so i don't fry my £700. One thing i will need is a active displayport adapter. there is this 6950 not in stock yet that doesn't require the adapter might wait for that.

Which brand is the best 6950 to go for?
thanks

The PSU that you have chosen is not modular (not sure if you realised).
If you want modular you could look at:
OCZ Z-Series 850W '80 Plus Gold' Modular Power Supply £92.99 or
Corsair Enthusiast Series TX750M High Performance 750W Modular Power Supply £99.98
and if you have the funds maybe throw in a SSD (Crucial M4 £73.99).
