I am currently saving up for a new pc hoping to be able to spend 2k , don't know how long that is gonna take though haha . I was wondering if I'm actually any good at putting a spec together , as I haven't built a pc in god knows how long my current pc is a pre-built from ocuk . But after coming onto these forums I am definitely going to be building my next one :D ... I have put a basket together but don't know how to post it on here ? It will purely be a gaming pc and I will have peripherals and other parts such as hd and os out of my current system :) .. Any help/advice would be much appreciated , tell me where I'm going wrong or where I could save money ! Just got home from work and sorted the basket out :)

wow nice doomedspeed will be definitely asking your opinion when I finally have the funds ! is that monitor 1440p ? I am hopefully aiming to go down that route :) ... Also I would probably be looking to get the overclocked bundle as I have no idea about that kind of thing, would it save me a lot of money buying each component separate ? if its not too much id rather it came pre oc'd with warranty :)

haha I never noticed the cables I just added them to cart thinking they was all the same! Yeah I really like that case. no doubt by the time I come to upgrade though they'll be some newer stuff out I just wondered how I was at putting a spec together !

No, its isn't 1440p, its 120hz instead.

Lets explain the difference, 1440p is more pixels so a sharper resolution. But you'll only see 60 FPS. Whereas a 120hz monitor will show 120FPS but at a 1080p resolution. I prefer 120hz as 1440p is still really expensive.

I take it 120Hz would be a lot smoother then? of course aslong as you could hit the 120fps mark ? is the sharpness in 1440p a noticeable difference from 1080p ? I didn't think the 1440 monitors would be as expensive as they are considering you can get 4k monitors for not much more ! :)

Yeah, 120hz is a lot smoother. Though 1440p looks sharper.

1440p is very near the price of some 4k monitors now. Id personally get a 120hz and see how you like it, they hold their value pretty well, if you want to move upto 4K.

2 x 290's will blast 120hz and 1440p, not sure about 4K though.

yeah , like I said not sure how long its going to take me to save up the budget, so prices will probably have changed, new hardware will probably be out too. there are just too many options to choose from though haha, I do like the idea of going 120hz then moving up to the 4k in the future. I would probably need 3/4 gpus to max settings on games and still get 60 fps though I think :)
