What food is easy and quick to make, lunch and dinner-wise. To give you lots of energy and bulk up? Obviously things like pasta and meat is a good start, but what quick and easy dishes do you know and love? :)

Porridge, although more a breakfast thing.

Spag bol is always easy and full of everything you need

As hinted at by Thorpy, don't necessarily think of what you can quickly make at the time, also consider what freezes well. Bolognaise, curry, all things like that freeze really well - make a huge vat of it, freeze down, reheat one portion at a time! Result!

Aye i can't normally finish a whole packet of mince, bang the rest in the fridge and eat the next day. It even tastes better

Noodles!

Bought a x2 packs of 24 from Costco, they're delicious. You can also add chicken and whatnot into them.

Lunch: tuna in pita bread.

Dinner: make up massive batches of bolognese sauce and keep them in the freezer. Versatile and tasty.

The key imo is to spend an hour each Sunday making up everything for the week. For example I used two roast 8 flattened and rolled chicken breasts wrapped in bacon and stuffed with spinach on Sunday and munch them for lunch in the week.

Slap some onions, peppers, garlic and tomatoes in the oven chopped roughly and roast with a drizzle of olive oil and some mixed herbs. Cook some pasta up. Add the two. Very cheap tasty pasta dish and can just freestyle stuff in it like meat etc.

We just bought a few whole chickens that were on special, cooked them, put them in takeaway containers and ended up with 8 meals from 3 chickens! Take them out the night before and use as sandwich fillers, stirfry, wraps, etc.

As has been said, any sort of sauce is great. Cacciatorie sauce is nice, freezes for 6 months and just throw it in with a bit of pasta and pre-cooked chicken! You'd be done in 15 minutes!!

I buy whole chickens as well. Piece of cake to joint a chicken as well, you can always joint it and cook the diff parts on different nights or do the lot as one.

5UB get a slow cooker we have one there awesome in the morning whilst kettle is boiling chuck chicken/beef veg potatos barley and chick /beef stock in on a low heat. By the tine u get in voila done!!!
:D
