Good bye Flourscent lights a ahha

This was bound to happen, but whats interesting is they have been used in more "third world" countries for a while already, before us! A project ran by this man to bring light to third world type mud huts for reading etc involved using this technology powered by waterwheels. I'll try and find you the article. As it is now, it gives the chance for highly concealed lighting designs and the light colour can be tailored for daylight or warm etc.

i find florecent yellowish lighting effects my mood and can put me on quite a downer so if this can do a nice daylight glow cheaply then its all good :D

This is good to see, I have been thinking for a while that it's about time LEDs were used for general purpose lighting. We seem to be seeing them increasingly everywhere else.

yeah yeah yeah, I've seen it all before. Some bright spark comes up with a really good product which will save money and energy and all that happens is that the big money making companies, buy them up and promptly bury them so the product never sees the light of day!.

We end up having to use expensive inefficient technology and are forced to hand over more money to the big money making companies because there is no other choice.

Anyone remember that bloke who invented the electric heating paint!, If we all used that, the total energy savings in the UK would be phenominal as well as probably reducing greenhouse gas emissions, but no!. He was bought out and the invention promptly buried.

If the governments really want to do something about the environment, they should make it against the law for this to happen!, but I guess they get too much money from the oil companies etc.....
