im on the lookout for a good case for use as a fileserver (currently has 4x 3.5inch hdd drives, 1x sata enclosure holding 3 hdds taking up two 5.25 bays and a dvd-rw).

i was thinking of reusing my coolermaster atcs200 which is housing my quiet/gaming rig and getting something like a lian li a05b and making the cm200 the new fileserver. reason is that it has around 6x 3.5inch bays which are in the path of 2x 80mm fans and 3x 5.25inch bays.

i would need at least 3x 5.25inch bays as i have the sata enclosure/dvdrw which take up 3 spaces.

currently the server is in a big mofo supermicro sc750 which isnt all that good for cooling i find. theres loads of room, not so much cooling in action, 4 fans on the side of the 5.25 bays which is all well and good but theres massive bits of metal blocking most of the airflow. got a 3.5inch bay at the top of the case, great for a hdd but no ventilation!

doesnt have to look pretty, needs to be functional and not willing to splash out loads on a server case whereas i can reuse the cm200.

never mind, ended up picking up a second hand Coolermaster ATC 201b-BXT to use as a main rig and going to reuse the 200 as a server.
:)

thats as close to a black widow as i'll get, its better i suppose, exactly the same but it has a top blowhole.
