Good case for a system with Tuniq Tower

Hi all,

I think I need a new case, as my current system is overheating, even with the side off. Fans are all okay, so I think it just needs some decent cooling now summer is here.

Really my priorities are:
- runs cool
- runs silent
- easy to maintain

I have a Tuniq Tower CPU cooler, so the case must be big enough to hold that. Aside from that, I have a 8800GT (and probably a second by the end of the year), 2 harddrives (again, maybe a third soon). I'd prefer a case without a floppy drive slot/holder as I'll never use one.

I've been looking around and found a few I like (and read some forum threads), which brings it to:

Antec 1200 (I like the removable dust guards. I think the 300 is too small for the Tuniq though, only 205mm wide)
Coolermaster Stacker 832 (lots of fans!)

They are both rather expensive though. Does anyone have some other recommendations, or thoughts about those two?

Thanks in advance :)

Akasa eclipse 62
Antec p182
These two spring to mind probably the best two cases around for about £70-£100

So many people have these two cases and there's a good reason for that.
Both fit the tuniq tower fine the ecplise is very deep and wide which is the main reason I got one a few years back as to never have fitting issues in the future.

I have a front intake and rear exhaust and tuniq tower in the eclipse 6420 @3.2ghz default voltage tuniq fan is on lowest setting current idle is 27c and it feels humid in this room.

The floppy bay can be taken out as can the hard drive bays get yourself quiet fans and bungee mod the hard drives and the eclipse is great.
Better looking cases out there but they are more expensive, personally am not bothered what my case looks like as long as it performs well and is easy to work with.

Pretty much what C64 said, just down to what you think looks the best tbh :)

I personally went with the P182 and I cant see myself ever replacing it for many, many years :)

Thanks for the feedback guys :)

I have to say the 182 looks a little fiddly - unaccessible power/reset button, have to take off sides to take off the front, no slide-out motherboard panel. But I really like its insulating properties, but worried about how many fans I can stick in it.

I'll keep reading reviews, cheers!

Excellent review, thanks!

I like the mounting idea for the HDs, but don't like that that whole bracket has to screw into the main bracket in the case (if you see what I mean), I always having to pull out the motherboard just to get to the drives.

Currently for me it's a toss-up between the Stacker 832 and the Eclipse 62, which I really like a lot, if it's a bit ugly on the outside!

unaccessible power/reset button

Its perfectly easy to access, just pop open the door and press it.

have to take off sides to take off the front
Why would you want to take off the front?

no slide-out motherboard panel
Do you really change motherboard so much you need one of these?

worried about how many fans I can stick in it
2 in lower chamber
1 more in second HDD chamber
1 on top
1 on back

How many do you want?

Antec P182, great case. Very large, with all the crap in mine it looks still looks empty.
Mine has all the stock fans, and is basically enclosed so not brilliant airflow but good temps. And looks real slick.
There is abit of noise, but i often have either music on speakers or have headphones for gaming and this pretty much drones the noise out but im sure most of the noise is because it echoes in the small space.
