Hey guys,

I'm looking for a cheap colour laser printer and seriously hovering over the buy button on a Dell 1320cn for approx £115 with a full set of starter toners.

Afaik the 1320cn gets pretty good reviews for the price, but can anyone point me to a better option for about the same £££

Thanks guys

ps. hope this is the correct section for printers, tbh you never see printer threads on here so...

Good and cheap don't really go together here. How many pages per month are you planning on printing, and what cost per sheet is acceptable?

Price for replacement toner may prove to be more significant than the initial cost of the printer.

The toner carts you get with a printer are only about 33-50% full anyway!
I have a samsung CLP-315, but I use an HP1320 for the majority of my printer needs. The other is only used when colour is a must! Colours are a lot more to run per page than a mono.

Thanks for taking the time to reply guys,

Toner costs are not an issue for me as i am an extremely light user, probably to the point when its almost not worth owning a printer tbh, i expect the starter toners to last me the life of the printer.

I only really want this printer as when i really need to print something i have no way of doing it, i dont work in an office anymore so cant print at work and have been resorting to using the library printers which is impractical now i've changed jobs and pretty much never have a day off.

Atm i need to print off some wiring diagrams someone has asked me to draw up, making me think investing in a printer might not be a bad idea.

I am just wanting to confirm that if i go ahead with the 1320cn im not missing a much better deal or better quality printer for the same price.

Thanks again guys

EDIT: ps, i have spec'd a laser because i prefer them, rather than for cost per page reasons, in my experience they just work, even if left for months, unlike inkjets which seem to have constantly blocked jets and use half the ink on cleaning the heads etc, i also prefer the output / print they give.

I also have the Dell 1320cn - I bought it as I rarely print and got fed up of inkjets continually drying up. It has been superb, only issue being when it arrived the admin password didn't work so I needed to do a factory reset to be able to change some of the settings (eg fixed the IP address).
