As title, got free broadband with Orange and have had so for 6 years so used their provided Livebox after my old Linksys router died.

Being stripped of said free broadband!

So, gonna go on Plusnet as it's cheap and I don't want to move my phone line contract to any other provider (BT currently).

Plusnet offer a wireless router (seems it has no LAN port?!) or a wired one (no wireless capability) so basically I will need my own pretty decent one which does wired and wireless, ADSL, 4 port ideally, hardware firewall and mainly reliable and quick :) Anything on OcUK's site will do for recommendations. Don't wanna spend loads.

I hear TPLink stuff is pretty good cheap stuff now?

Cheers people!

Ive got two TP Link gigabit switches working fine for the last two years, only crashed once just a quick reboot fixed it.

what budget have you got for your router/adsl model as they start on the OCUK website from £29

depends what you want out of it Wireless Gigabit ports Etc...

Plusnet charge you something stupid for the router if you leave them within the first year (basically they don't really do rolling contracts, it's a con). Hateful company, glad I'm leaving for Virgin on the 29th now that they're finally in my area.

They're not even cheap. You can get fibre from Virgin for cheaper.

I'll have a spare plusnet router from the 29th if you're interested. It does the job.

Ahh Kia if it has 4 LAN ports too then it'd do, I don't need anything special at all (having coped with a Livebox for years!) but just want a reliable unit which doesn't drop tinternet connection all the time etc.

Are the plusnet ones branded units?

Cheers for that mate that should do the job then, the wording made out you MUST have a wireless capable machine thats all :)
