good cheap screen splitting software?

The philips software looked like it would achieve what I wnated, but just crashes when trying to load it.

Splitview, which I paid for and was useful as I needed it before, does not seem to have options besides splitting vertically. This will do for now, but wanted the ability for a three screen split - one large left and two smaller vertical on right.

So, hoping there is something cheap but good out there... did a search, but only came up with the LG software...

The LG software that came with my monitor seemed worthless...

I'm pretty pleased with Aquasnap.
Most features are free ('for personal use'): only AquaGlue, grouped moving and grouped resizing are in the paid version.

Almost, but with the two smaller windows split horizontally.

The LG software looks to allow that, and so does the philips, but the LG won't work with non-LG screen, and the Philips software just fails.

Aquasnap does support this:

Code:
+---+-+-+
| |___|
| | |
+---+-+-+

Windows 10 does this natively, but Aquasnap goes a bit further still.

Yeah, I can get that in Aqua snap. Suppose should have said didn't want the split down middle but more to right.

But I have been fiddling a bit more, trying different things I would be using, and honestly, Aqua snap will probably be just fine.

I see.

AquaMagnet (part of paid/Pro) would allow you to drag the middle 'divider' and resize all 3 windows at once. Not quite as convenient as having it preset, but second best.

I did put a suggestion in for more fancy tiling layouts (custom!) in their contact form...

That was a very tempting option to be honest. Went for the LG 31" in the end... so I do understand plenty of real estate.

My suggestions I send by contact form were:
Code:
+---+---+---+
| | | |
+---+-+-+---+
| | |
+-----+-----+

+---+---+---+
| | | |
+---+---+---+
| | | |
+---+---+---+

I have another 180px or so, so thirds becomes tempting (3x 1365)

I have been mailing with the author of AquaSnap. He intends to implement some kind of custom layout. I suggested he'd look at how Windock does it.

He did suggest AquaGlue can do what we want in the interim, but it obviously won't 'remember' the layout made with that.

Worth keeping an eye out, as I think overall AquaSnap is the programme with more features.
