Me and my Dad were considering heading into Edinburgh for a pint and a Chinese tonight. Now we like Jimmy Chung's but cant be doing with all the noise and rabble thought the food is quite good. Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations for a decent Chinese restaurant in Edinburgh?

Cheers

I've never found one that's any good. BTW Jimmy Chung's is about the least authentic Chinese food I have ever come across!

Jimmy's Good Food in Bruntsfield does great takeaway though.

If you want good food in Edinburgh in a place that's relaxed enough to go and get lashed with your Dad go to the Mussel and Steak bar.

I'm not a big fan of Chinese myself but if you're in Edinburgh you should go to a chipper and get a deep fried burger with salt and sauce! Wonderful they are.

One over at Edinburgh Park. I was there on friday. £11 to eat all you can, and a Pint of Sunlik ( Chinese Beer ).

Nice and Quiet. Nice food too !

I'm guessing he's already been and had the Chinese by now as he posted the thread yesterday. That's assuming he could find anywhere with space on Valentines night!

We actually ended up heading to a local Indian place and had a really nive Rogan Josh curry with pilau rice with hefty nan.

Thanks for the suggestions though :)
