Good choice for ROG Swift?

Hi I recently bought the Asus ROG Swift and have been looking for a dual monitor to go beside it. I have been looking at this monitor that is onsale this week as it is the same resolution and also made by ASUS but it is a few years old, would this be a sensible purchase?

I really wish OCUK didn't use those racy pictures! At home it's not a problem but at work it could get a little embarrassing.

Are you looking for an IPS/PLS panel in particular? What are you looking to use this monitor for?

I'm just going to be using this monitor alongside my swift for viewing Streams/Videos/Tweetdeck etc so I would like to get the best quality I can. I think this monitor would be a sensible as it's the same size/resolution/brand as the Swift and gets good reviews everywhere I've seen.

I was just questioning the price but it seems to be a really good deal on here, competitor.

I would yes and no. The image on the IPS screen should be much better than the TN and will make the monitor much more flexible. The down side is you will probably start to notice the weak points of the TN monitor very quickly.

I am aware that the colours will look better, I took this into account when buying the swift. I just think it would be silly to buy a TN 2nd monitor if I'm only going to be using it for consuming content. Also I noticed that the Asus Monitor I linked above is actually slightly different from the one that has lots of reviews does not end in R, is it still near enough the same?
