Good Combo?

Just looking to upgrade my system from X2 4400+, X1900 to Intel / nVidia gear as it appear the way to go.

Looking at the E8400 on an Asus P5N-T Board Deluxe (nForce 7) with 1 BFG 8800GTX 0C2 to start with to run the graphics and 4Gb RAM. To further upgrade easily I could go quad core or more graphics cards at a later date.

Any other suggestions / things I should know as I think I went AMD / ATI just as they were losing their way?
 
If your going to throw money, you may want to wait for the 98xx series (excluding the fake 8 series in disguise 9800GX2) as they "should" be far superior to 1 or even 2 GTX's. Get maybe a GT or a GTS as a stopgap, or even an ATI 3870, as its cheaper, and looks likely to not suffer the major resell drop the GT and GTS are bound to suffer.
