Good compatible routers with TalkTalk?

I'm with the shambles of an ISP that is TalkTalk right now. Using a terribly outdated Speedtouch 330 modem that isn't compatible with Windows 7. I love to PC game so I'm very hamstrung by this. I have no clue about routers, really so I don't know what would be compatible. I've been trawling google and haven't found anything really concrete. I'm on an 8mbps ADSL connection that I need to dial to connect to. I was wondering if any of the smart folks on here could point me in the right direction toward a decent router? Not really looking for anything fancy, to be honest. Just has to have an RJ-11 slot and/or Ethernet/USB. My connection right now is like bleeding wacky races! Wire comes out of my phone line into a DSL filter where an RJ-11 cable attaches to the router then USB into my computer. Phew!

If anyone could help me with this it'd be much appreciated. Thanks in advance guys

A few suggestions...

1. Leave TalkTalk and go to a better ISP that'll give you a new router for free.
2. Ask TalkTalk nicely for a new router. You must be a long-term customer to still have that 330.
3. Tell TalkTalk you’re leaving and see if the retention team will sweeten the deal with a new router.
4. Pick something from here http://www.overclockers.co.uk/productlist.php?groupid=46&catid=1595 that suits your budget, and then comeback and ask people’s opinions about it.
