going to ring up some networks today to look at getting the n73 in black but before going i'd like to know what a good deal would be for one, concerning minutes and price

the phone would have to be free on all contracts and be only 12 months.

im thinking of going on orange as they give magic number and i only really ring one person. does magic numbers mean unlimited calls forever to one person, or is there a catch thats its actualy only like an extra 200 a week or something?

I'm looking for a similar deal at the moment.

Best i found is:

Nokia N73
400 minutes
100 texts
02

12 Month contract, £35 a month, 8 months half price = £23.3 a month

If anyone finds any better let me know!

Lovely. My contract finished in early Feb so i think i will be ordering that deal soon.

I take it you got it from dial-a-phone?

What are your first impressions on the phone?

Yes matey dialaphone, the phone has been brilliant, none of this crashing malarky people usually moan about, great camera and a lovely screen :)

I have been an orange user for years but I was on a 200 minute for £30 contract.

So I called them up and complained about my tarriff and the lack of the phone I wanted to upgrade to in stock.

Result:

500 minutes
Unlimited texts
free N73
£30 per month on 18 month contract.

i think thats pretty terrible to be honest if that deal is after a complaint. maybe on a £20 thats good but £30? just my opinion and maybe i've set my expectations too high

Its actually not too bad considering many people's requests.

I phone o2 online last week and complained which the dozey guy offered me an N73 for £30 on a £30 per month tariff which consists of 200 minutes and 100 texts.

What a crappy offer and I asked for my PAC.

A week later and still no PAC so I'm going to ring again and see if I'm offered something else.

Just been looking at dialaphone and noticed these two deals for new customers.

N73 = FREE
O2 400 = 400 mins & 100 Txts @ £35 pa (8 months at £17.50)
12-month contract

Total year tariff = £280

OR

N73 = FREE
O2 250 = 250 mins & 100 Txts @ £30 pa
12-month contract

Total year tariff = £360

By chosing the £35pa tariff over the £30pa tariff saves you £80 and gets you an extra 150 minutes.

Interesting.

I am curious about this as I am currently 6 days in of my 7 days upgrade (see if i like it etc) with orange.

I have just upgraded to a N73 from a N70, on orange, but now on this 18 months (Which i hate) contract dolphin 35 @ £35 per month 550 minutes / unlimited text's and free orange care.

BUT...

The N73 arrived last thursday, and today I had a orange courier out to replace it as it had developed a problem of the Microphone not working when using loudspeaker, but useless when driving! so they replaced it. But have replaced it with a older software version.
1st one was oct 2006 ver 3 not this new one (todays) is ver 2 July 2006. Not sure what differences are though.

But if i flash the software on nokia's site will I loose all the orange MMS settings / internet settings etc ? and will Orange still cover my phone.

I am seriously thikning about ringing up Orange tomorrow and either sending it back or asking for a better deal as £35 per month for 18 months is a lot of pennies dont you think ????

I chatted to O2 online today about a new offer and the best they could do was a Free N73 on a £35 pa tariff giving 500 mins & 500 txts on a 12-month contract.

For £30 pa they offered me an N73 for £20 giving 200 mins and 500 txts on a 12-month contract.

As usual, new customers get a much better deal. I'll have to find the best O2 offline tariff with an N73 going with it for nothing.

yes i would say so. This is just a guess but if you ring to cancel all together and say something it because the deal they offered you was rubbish and phone wasn't what you wanted etc, mighten they not try and offer you a better deal to keep you? seeing as you're already with them and you're more likely to just want to stick with them if you get a good enough deal. Just a guess but seems logical?

Some great deals in here for the N73 the only thing that concerns me is the N73 is an internet phone so I'd be after some internet usage, especially concerning MSN Messenger and e-mails. You can get proper web pages now, although be it a lot of scrolling around but what sort of Data offers do the different companies do?

I was tempted by an N73 but I'm going to hang back and a nice shiny iPhone come winter time will do me nicely

BeatMaster :D

Just spotted something at dialaphone and wondered if you understand it the same way as I do.

It is possible to keep your existing number from your current prepay or contract phone when purchasing a new mobile package from Dial-a-Phone, if you wish to transfer to T-Mobile, Orange, Three and BT Mobile but unfortunately not Vodafone or O2.

So basically you can't take out a new phone on a Vodafone or O2 tariff if you want to port your number from another operator such as Orange or O2 Online?

That sucks.

Nope, it means youre unable to port across to O2 or Vodafone through dial-a-phone. You can however, port to the rest... no matter where the source is from, provided they're not the same provider.. ie you can't do Orange PM to Orange PM.

Sorry I'm still not clear on this.

If I was on Vodafone, I couldn't take my number with me to dialaphone and take a new contract with O2?

Or if I was with O2 online, I couldn't take my number with me to dialaphone if I wanted a new phone contract with them on either vodafone or O2 offline?

But it is ok to take your number with you when the dialaphone package you are taking is with the following operators: T-Mobile, Orange, Three or BT Mobile ?

No No to the following
---------------------
Vodafone to O2
O2 Online to Vodafone or O2 Offline

I'm currently with O2 online and was going to get my PAC and take an O2 offline package with dialaphone.
