anybody scoped a good deal for a paddock stand recently? think i have left it too long already to be doing chain adjustment and will be needing a stand!

cheers.

might sound daft, but are the bobbin hook things at a set or adjustable width? I see they don't say anything about how wide they are.

I'm going to have to get a headstock stand soonish as I get the feeling I'll need to change the front disc's for my MOT in November as they're just over the minimum thickness.

You can do that with a normal front paddock stand though? Unless you need the headstock stand for other jobs?

Some front stands that go under the forks done go high enough to get the front wheel out, unless you take the mudguard off of course, but who can be arsed doing that! :p

Aye I'm as lazy as the next man so it'll be headstock. Plus my bike has a hole that is begging to be filled by it.

I've ordered some organic EBC's to see what they're like. Going to put them in when I change my brake lines this weekend, weather permitting.

Hmm quick google shows zero sites for my bike. Are there any universal bobbins, or just easier to go for a universal stand.

Stupid mot (thought it was August not two weeks ago) running out :( and I need to go over rear break before putting it in.

You could get a stand that has both the rubber holders that just fit under your swing arm, or find out what bolt size is on your bikes swing arm and get some bobbins that fit.

I took my bobbins off my GSXR 750 K1 and fitted them to my S1000RR, so I doubt there is that much variation to be honest.

EDIT:
Just looked, do you still have the XJ 900? If so, you may need a paddock stand suitable for a single sided swing arm, as I have no idea if a normal paddock stand will be OK on a shaft driven bike.

Good point, if its a single sided swing arm you will need a stand to match, there are plenty out for Ducati's.... so only questions really is if the axle hole size is the same that it slots into....
