Excluding any mods for things like RFactor and realistic sim games, are there any F1 games that are inbetween arcade and sim?

I used to enjoy the F1 games from around 2001. Graphics was good (for the time) easy to control and fun.

Looking for something on the lines of Flatout 2, but F1

id say F1 challenge. ok its an EA game but they only published it, its actually by the same people who do rfactor now (ISI). theres also tons of mods. 99-02 come with the game, and at present there is 81-88, and 89 in progress, a small 1990 one, a 1991 has just been released, no 1992 as yet, then 1993 onwards.

feels much better than gp4 imho, just get a wheel, f1 games suck without it - plus its pretty easy to install all the mods and new tracks etc.

only prob is the going rate on ebay

MMMmmmmmmmmm :D
Must have selectively read that O.P. :p
RFactor does have Aids if it's to hard for you :D Good Aids as well not that bad aids.

Can't really think of anything else to suggest other than LFS S2 & the BMW but that is Pants compared to RF+Mods. Not LFS totally as that is Excellent but comparing the F1's.

Yep. It is amazing that a game engine of GP4's age is still going strong and holding its own. :)

Agreed, what Mods do you run MarcLister?

Any links greatly appreciated - GP4 not currently installed, but with the F1 season back on the telly, I'm getting the urge to re-install it after watching....... :)

And why is my Microsoft FF Wheel such a bitch to configure correctly with it? :o

I have (in no order of preference) GPL, GTR, GTR2, GP3, GP4 r-Factor, to my shame I only have BF2 , FS2004 & FSX installed on my machine.

Trying to avoid a Bus (Truck?) Man's Holiday I guess! :o:D

Haven't run GP4 for ages. :( I ended up tinkering with it and not playing it. :D

I did and would use the mods developed by the peeps on GPG. I'm kind of a mod there and have been on that site for years so I know most of the current GP4 modders are on there. Let me know if you want threads or names of modders or sites and I shall search GPG for ya. :)

Great stuff mate. :)

Anything that will bring a GP4 install relatively upto date I suppose, I'm not bothered about having "Lewis Hamilton" named as a driver, more, decent track conversions & the like.

Anything you deem useful will be explored! :)

Edit: Just Googled GPG and drawn a bit of a blank, got a direct link mate? - BHMotorsports / Racesimcentral etc are my usual GP4 haunts.

Sorry for going off-topic but R124/LA420 I too have those games you've listed (bar GTR) you should add Simbins Race 07 (bargain price now) or Race 08 to your list. Perhaps the OP might like to consider this either as there's open wheel racing that's pretty good fun

Thanks for that mate, I did not know about either '07 or '08.:o :)

>>> off to check out Simbin's website <<<

Edit: How the hell did I miss this one? :o

There is a demo on the website, I'll be giving this a blast later.

Thanks again for the heads up darwin.
