Morning all,

Although I live fairly close to Windsor I've never actually been out there, so have no idea what's there. I'm taking a lass out in the next week, so wanted to find somewhere nice where we can talk properly. By the river if the weather is good would be a bonus.

Any recommendations greatly received.

Thanks in advance. :)

Dinner date or just drinks?

The Riverhouse is apparently a nice pub/restaurant by the river, food is meant to be very good according to friends I know who have been there. House on the Bridge is another restaurant by the river but is a bit overpriced in my view, seems to command a premium as it's by the river.

EDIT: Link for The Riverhouse: http://www.windsorpubco.co.uk/riverhouse.html

Just drinks for the moment chaps. Don't mind slightly more expensive places, but £10 for a glass of wine need not apply. :)

Oh somewhere with parking would be handy as well, as we're both driving there.

Lego land!

You know you play to much L4D2 when every time you see something ending in "...land!" you read in the voice of Ellis.

Gate crash the Queen's for tea n crumpets? I'm sure she wont mind.

Just remember to bring some dog biscuits for the corgi's.

Already asked her if she's about, alas she's kicking it in Balmoral next week so won't be around.

The Gallery.

Get in there and show her how strong you are.

I'm trying to woo her man, not scare her off! :D

I took my now wife to Windsor on our second date, we had a McDonalds (classy) and I got hit in the face by a branch on an open top double decker bus. I didn't have to try too hard because we'd already done it prior to our first date!

Heres a few likely locations you might enjoy!

Cheers matey, liking the sound of the River House as it's on the river and has a decent size seating area outside. Looks more restaurant than drinks though. I'll have a mooch through the others though.

So you're saying I need to do her and get hit in the face by a tree? This is good stuff man, keep it coming. Gotta write this down. :D

Browns near the river if the weather is nice. You can sit outside and people watch in between all those uncomfortable silences.

Failing that, somewhere up near the second station (the smaller one) where there is a HA HA Bar and a few other suitable places in a similar vein.

Or if you want to show just how cool you are, take her to Belvedere in Ascot/Sunninghill, which you'll have to drive to - Also very swish.

What about going to The Royal Landscape? Could take a picnic and bubbly with you. Cheaper and probably nicer!

There's some nice places by the Old Station bit by the castle, I think.
