good for £100?

Yea, I would jump on that - so long as it all works.

Also, check if the Q6600 is B3 or G0 stepping (can be checked using CPU-Z). If it is a G0 - then these usually sell second-hand for £70-80.

The RAM, assuming it is DDR2 800/1066MHz - then this is worth ~£50 on its own.

As for the motherboard, I would suggest checking what make and model number it is - depending what board it is will determine how much overclocking you can do and what features it supports.

Also, the Q6600 is still a pretty nice CPU and keeps up with modern applications and games (so long as it is paired with a good graphics card), especially if you overclock it from 2.4GHz to 3GHZ (rather simple with a decent motherboard and a G0 chip).

YES!!!
excellent deal.
q6600 £50-£75
if its stock ram, than as cmndr_andi said 50ish, but if its good branded overclocking ram,
then 4gb is £30-45 so if you have 8gb than that can be worth upto £90 by itself. (depending on brand and speed)
also if the mobo is a p35 or p45, then you are laughing

Sorry people forgot i posted this! been rushed off my feet, well he is planning on upgrading soon and as were mates he will sort me out,

i know it all works as i sorted out some issues he had with it, he bought it custom pre built thing and they slapped it together he kept on getting blue screens, turned out they plugged the cpu fan into the chassis fan header on the board, no matter how many times it went back to the shop they could never solve it!

not sure when this will happen but i will find out the stepping of the chip and the motherboard and keep you guys updated,
perfect time really as i was about to go SB but this is cheaper! and faster then what i got now!

thanks guys!
