Was kinda hoping it is a dell as ive had a really ordeal with ** w***d and *****y and have lost faith in purchasing one from them! but ofcourse im on a tight budget and was hoping to get a package inc. screen for £500 could possibly stretch to £550 but only if it the bees knees! if anyone could help it would be much appreicated!......

Ahah! A PC, step inside - we have many magical things to show you :)

The dell options are extensive, but for that price you are going to get some bargain basement graphics card or integrated, which is definitely not ideal for gaming.

Would you be interested in building your own system? Its actually very easy and you get to pick all the parts you need for your budget (I would be happy to give you a suggested parts list which will beat any dell).

The sims 3 is not the most graphically intensive game, but you will need a reasonable graphics card to run it well on a significant resolution. I built my sister a PC for playing Sims 3 a few weeks before it came out - running really nicely on her 22in screen.

Sorry for the double post, but here is a self-build specification I just threw together:

That will play sims 3 at full resolution, full detail and high framerates.

That is just under budget but does not include an operating system. I recommend downloading and using Windows 7 RC (64 bit version). Then when the £50 pre-orders for full windows 7 are offered (later this month) - buy it then. Means the full system will cost less than £550 total.

Sorry, didn't mean to sound sexist there. I was meaning that you didn't realise the OP was a lady by addressing her as "Man".

I know ladies can build PCs just as good as us guys - my sister put hers together just fine with only a bit of help from me, I'm sure she can do it all herself next time.

It is really quite easy. Just take your time and ask here if you need help. Also the whole pride of building thing

You can't mention those competitors, read the FAQ :)

Unless you live near the OcUK shop, then we can't mention any other places.

Hi sasha, I just did a bit of searching and this series of videos may give you a nice bit of insight into building a PC. The computer he is building is a bit old, but the principles remain the same. Its also good because it shows how simple it is to put it all together.

The shop you want to buy the stuff from is right here :)

To remove confusion sasha, you aren't allowed to mention competitors in your posts here. So you should probs edit your posts to remove any mention of other stores other than OcUK including your thread title if possible
