Good guide to installing Aircraft (fully) FS2004

I have been having a lot of trouble with installing aircraft of FS2004 (FS9). I can install the skins/models fine, but i cant get the virtual cockpit to work or the new panels. I have tried installing a B737-800 skin, but only the model works with the B737-400 panel that comes standard with FS2004. Whenever i switch to virtual cockpit, its just blank like a see-threw floor or something. I have tried to follow some guide online, but it keeps coming out with the same results.

If anyone could do a step-by-step guide for dummies on installing a complete aircraft (including new panel, virtual and not), i would be grateful.

Thanks. I followed the guide, but i still get no virtual cockpit view. The model installs fine and it flyable, but i want the virtual cockpit for a better view

Here is a really in depth tutorial, and it uses a b737-400 as an example.

Finding (ctrl+F) 'Virtual', brings up a bit towards the bottom, some text file editing.
