Good job but going for an interview elsewhere?

So I have been at my company for coming up 3 years now - they've been really good to me in past and are definitely looking after me.

However, recently (last 3 months or so) I've been a bit unsure of the work I'm being put towards and as such don't seem to have the enthusiasm that I used to. I used to pull many late nights working on my projects but recently just lack that extra spark I used to have - is this just a minor blip or a sign of things to come I wonder?

Given that, my friend emailed me out of the blue the other day and asked about working for his employer, they're a very small niche outfit working in the retail sports/finance sector and look like they're doing pretty well. I am excited by the role description and it looks about on-par with my current package.

So I ask you, with all this in mind, would you go for an interview (just to see?) or would you give it a miss in case you got super-tempted to move?

What's wrong with being super tempted to move? If you're super tempted then there are obviously some very good reasons to move, so why consider actually moving.

Hmm ok. I was 80% sure that I would go along but I wanted to see if anyone else would say no - I guess I feel a little disloyal to a company that's treated me very well other last 3 years! To hell with it, I'll deal with the temptation to move as and when it arrives!
