Good laptop for £500?

Depends on the usage. Dell outlet might be the best place, You can get something like an Inspiron 15R with an i7 and 1080p screen for 500, has a 7730M in at as well.

I got an i7, 8gb ram, 1tb hd, 1080p screen and 8730m gfx for 450 delivered from dell outlet. Cant beat that sort of value.

gotta agree with the above
i picked up a i5 with turbo boost 15.6inch full hd anti glare screen 1 tb hard drive blu ray drive and 8 gig ram and 7730 graphics card

really am impressed with the 450 outlay on the outlet

games im playing so far run very nice on medium/high settings most can do high if you go 720p res

metro last light,crysis3,grid 2,

nice bit of kit for the money and my temps are only 50-63 tops

only downside is its not exactley portable bit of a beast tbh

Interested in this price range too, a friend has asked me to recommend a laptop to him for @£500. Although I also believe Dells to be excellent value his last two laptops have been Dells and both caused him grief with component failure just out of warranty which Dell dismissed out of hand completely when he tried reasoning with them. So naturally he is reluctant to go down the Dell route again. To that end, has anyone got any recommendations for laptops from another manufacturer?.

To the OP - apologies for jumping into your thread but I didn't see the point of starting another 'Spec me a £500 laptop' thread as your thread was at the top of the page already. ;)
