Good lord, is that an... Electricity pylon?

Ta mate. Should have said, but it's an Infra Red shot, also a very long exposure.

Basic info :
Camera ~ Nikon D70
Focal length ~ 15mm
Exposure ~ c. 64"
Aperture ~ F/22
Filter ~ Wratten 87
Tripod ~ Manfrotto 190Pro w/ 460MG

When I was shooting it, I hadn't noticed the tree on the preview... I considered cropping it later, but couldn't be bothered. I don't particularly like changing the aspect ratio of pics if I can avoid it, too...

You wouldn't have thought it, but i'd gone out taking very much "nature" photos. This just happened to be in the middle of a field, and when I was stood underneath it, I found it very imposing. Kind of wanted to capture that :)

I don't know why, but trying to adjust saturation of Infra Red shots has, thus far, created an effect similar to what you describe. It just doesn't work properly :/

I think it's just because there's very little colour information to begin with - especially with a more dense filter, like the Wratten 87 I used here.

Now i'm thinking maybe cloning out the tree, or at least trying, is worth a go. Wish i'd noticed it on the preview screen tbh >.<

As for the red cast, I like it, but I also really like the slight two-tone effect that I have. Hmmm.

And the whites. I liked those cos' I thought it gave the structure a very "metallic" feel. Not so sure now.
