Hi there wondered if anyone had some suggestions for AV solutions, there are 5 users 1 server.

Server is running file store and exchange.

Was looking at nod 32's enterprise solution which does both av adn spyware at a resonable price. wondered if anyone else had any suggestions?

pccillin was another one i looked at as i've used their stand alone av for a while now and its been great.

Many thanks

If you want a managed solution, then MessageLabs is about as good as it gets, not sure on costs though as may be prohibitive for such a small set-up.

We are a reseller & installer of NOD32 at work and it's pretty damn good. The configuration options are the most clear and well laid out of any Business-class AV I have tried to date, which is always a bonus :)

We used to resell Avast! & AVG but both were pretty poor to be honest, I don't know what they are like now though.

Edit: I wouldn't rely on the integrated spam filter to do all of your spam filtering mind you. I'd take a look at MessageLabs or Postini for that.

A downward vote for Sophos here, massive issues on my network with it - mostly performance related but the admin console is *****

And a compulsory downvote for Symantec too, much the same problems as Sophos, although my software vendor assures me they've lowered the footprint...

I've done a few deployments of Kaspersky and always been very impressed, performance is great and management is very powerful (if a little complicated).

Never used NOD32 for servers but I've got it on my laptop and it seems OK

have used f secure in a small environment and seemed ok, centrally managed console etc.

Otherwise only really used Mcaffee/ePO but that's more for larger implementations

Sophos. I don't usually like one word replies, but that's all I can think of right now.

We use them and it works, heh :)

I'd steer well clear of Sophos, as per iaind, have massive issues with performance. This is the third company I've worked for that was using it but has decided to ditch it due to similar issues.

Also fairly expensive - we're evaluating trend micro on a few sites. Seems alright but to be honest desktop AV isn't my problem and server AV doesn't really have much to do these days - only real entry point for viruses is email and messagelabs take care of that...

Ahhh, i see where i was going wrong, when you asked about a managed solution i thought you meant a solution you procured from a supplier that was pretty much hands off i.e. they managed the implementation and on-going support for you, to me what you mean with this is a centrally administered AV/Spam solution. For that NOD32 Smart Security would be about right for you.

another vote for NOD32, been a reseller for a while now and very good system...apart from the recent hiccup where system files were classed as trojans
